  • Certified Manufacturing Technology Sales Engineer
    CERTIFICATION AND STUDY GUIDE

    CMTSE

    The Certified Manufacturing Technology Sales Engineer (CMTSE) program provides national validation and recognition of exceptional business acumen and technical knowledge among sales engineers to benefit sales professionals, as well as the OEMs and distributors who seek to distinguish products and services in a crowded, globally competitive market. CMTSEs meet or exceed the national, industry-recognized standard for consultative selling in the manufacturing technology arena. They are trusted business advisors. Registration to become a CMTSE candidate secures a seat at an upcoming exam and provides access to the CMTSE Study Guide - the official exam prep course covering the best-in-class proficiencies of sales engineers across thirteen chapters in a structured, e-learning course format. The CMTSE certification exam is a three-hour, online test that consists of 150 multiple-choice questions sourced directly from the CMTSE Study Guide. Candidates should allow two months to complete the CMTSE e-learning course content.

    UNDERSTANDING THE FUNDAMENTALS OF SELLING IN A MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT

    MT SALES FUNDAMENTALS

    Manufacturing Technology Sales Fundamentals is a strategic professional development course for new sales hires and application engineers or service technicians migrating into a role in sales. The course was developed by industry-veteran Dave Poling and features Steve Lesnewich, Senior Consultant, and Greg Jones, former Vice President of Smartforce Development for AMT and current Director of Strategic Programs and Partnerships for SME. This digital learning experience delivers educational content across the 14 key sales and business acumen areas, including sales fundamentals, listening, likeability, winning repeat business, and call planning. Each section is presented in a mobile-friendly and self-paced video format to blend seamlessly into training agendas and busy schedules. After completing the learning modules, learners will receive a certificate of completion. Access is limited. Learners must complete MT Sales Fundamentals within 90 days of purchase.

    UNDERTSTANDING DIGITAL MANUFACTURING

    MTCONNECT

    The MTConnect standard (ANSI/MTC1.4-2018) is a free, XML-based communications standard. Using a domain-specific semantic vocabulary for manufacturing equipment, developers and system integrators use this information model to provide structured, contextualized data with no proprietary format. This reduces translation costs and lets users focus on useful, productive manufacturing applications rather than low-level data wrangling.

    MTConnect Standard: Essentials Suite

    This free e-learning course that encompasses 200 minutes of total learning about MTConnect, providing essential learning on this widely used communications standard that is the backbone of the connected shop floor.
