Ted Lykowski
Midwest Client Executive
Ted Lykowski, Client Executive at Tooling U-SME, is passionate about helping manufacturers solve the challenges that keep them up at night. With over 10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, Ted has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing manufacturers today.
A graduate of Northeastern Illinois University with a BS and DePaul Driehaus College of Business with an MBA, both in finance, Ted began his career in banking, where he spent 25 years in various roles, including product and service sales, commercial lending, international trade banking, and eventually serving as a commercial lender. After a downturn in the banking sector, Ted transitioned into manufacturing education and training, working with organizations such as Manufacturing Renaissance and the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest (GACC).
At Manufacturing Renaissance, a workforce development institution that helps people in underserved communities gain skills to advance their careers, Ted connected corporations with the program and helped students along their learning path. He also built relationships with manufacturers to provide students with insights into manufacturing careers, setting up field trips and events for interaction between manufacturers and potential employees. Ted was also actively involved with the Chicago Public Schools, working with students and promoting manufacturing careers. At GACC, Ted was responsible for selling workforce development programs, patterned after German manufacturing education models, to companies in a 14-state region.
Ted's experience in manufacturing education and training has given him a unique perspective on the challenges facing manufacturers today. He is committed to helping manufacturers find solutions to these challenges and achieve their dreams.
Goals and Approach
Ted's primary goal as a Client Executive is to help manufacturers improve their workforce by providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed. He believes that training is essential for manufacturers to stay competitive in the global economy.
Ted's approach to helping manufacturers is to first understand their unique challenges and goals. He then works with them to develop a customized training plan that meets their specific needs.
Territory
Ted's territory includes the states of Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia. He sees a lot of potential for growth in these states, especially with the rise of new technologies and industries, such as electric vehicles and battery manufacturing.
Personal Life
Ted is married with two adult children who both graduated from Purdue University and work in supply chain management. He is a lifelong learner and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
In Ted's Own Words
"My goal is to help manufacturers solve whatever that issue is keeping them up at night, or in the case of others, help them achieve their dream."
